It all started with a slideshow.

I was in primary school in the American mid-west. The school librarian, an enchanting wanderlust, regularly shared slides from her latest adventures before sending us off to search the stacks for our own literary escapes. On this day she shared stories and images from Machu Picchu, and I was mesmerized. From that day forward I was hooked… on books and on travel!

My first personal experiences with other languages and cultures came when my family moved to Palo Alto, California - an incredible melting pot - the summer after I finished primary school. It was here that I began learning Spanish, and was so inspired by the language, art, culture, and diversity within the Spanish-speaking world that I eventually went on to earn degrees in Government and Latin American Studies from Smith College. I have also studied French, Italian and German - and even dabbled in a bit of Russian and Chinese in preparation for an epic TransMongolian Railway journey. Language is another part of my travel story. It’s about so much more than words; it is part of the musicality of a place, and offers insights into both culture and nuance.

The passionate pursuit of exploring the world has led me on wide-ranging adventures. While my personal interest in wellness has added another lens through which to experience, and make a deeper connection with, a place - and to experience other levels of transformation. From flavours and aromas, sights and sounds, to geography and history – and people – they all beckon.

My career has spanned business, education, publishing and travel. The underlying theme? A tenacious perfectionism rooted in exhaustive research, playful curiosity and exceptional partnerships.

As a travel designer, each journey begins with a blank sheet and a conversation. Every trip I design is 100% bespoke and reflects the energy, interests and aims of each unique client.
